Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are based on the Bible, Creeds, Articles of Religion, and works of the Wesleys. Their content, how these relate to each other and their relative authority are found here

At the core of our faith at New Salem Methodist Church is our belief in God – God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that because of the sin that has separated humanity from God, God sent His Son to offer a way for us to be forgiven, reconciled, and spiritually reborn.

We firmly believe that this saving grace is available to all who accept Jesus Christ as their savior. There is no other path to salvation, and we believe that by accepting Jesus, we can be cleansed of our sins and made new in Christ.

Once we have accepted God’s grace through Christ, we believe that God comes to live within us, transforming us into a new person in Christ Jesus. This newness in Christ should be reflected in everything we do, in our thoughts, words, and actions. We believe that our love for God should be reflected in everything we do and that we should strive to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Ultimately, we believe that by following Christ and striving to live a holy life, we can become the best versions of ourselves. We believe that it’s our duty as Christians to spread God’s love and grace to those around us, sharing the message of salvation with all who will listen.

At New Salem Methodist Church, we are proud to stand by these beliefs, and we welcome all who share our passion for Christ and our desire to spread God’s love to the world.

Bylaws

Our church has recently become independent, and we’re thrilled to be taking this next step in our journey of faith. As an independent church, we have greater autonomy and flexibility to pursue our vision and mission, and we’re excited about the new opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.

If you’re new to our community, or even if you’ve been with us for a while, you might be wondering what being an independent church means for us. To get a better understanding of who we are and what we stand for, we invite you to take a look at our church’s bylaws.

These bylaws outline our beliefs, values, and governance structure, and they provide a comprehensive overview of how we operate as a church. By reading our bylaws, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our community and what we’re all about. We hope that this will help you feel more connected to us and inspire you to get involved in our church’s activities and programs.

Mission & Vision

At New Salem Methodist Church, our mission is centered around making disciples of Christ. We believe that the best way to achieve this is by demonstrating our love for the Lord and sharing His story with others.

We are committed to living out this mission in all that we do, whether it’s through our worship services, our outreach programs, or our daily interactions with others. We believe that every person has a unique story to tell, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to share their experiences and connect with others in a meaningful way.

Our ultimate goal is to help others discover the transformative power of Christ and to create a community of believers who are passionate about sharing His love and grace with the world. We believe that by living out this mission each day, we can make a real difference in the lives of those around us and create a better world for all.
